“Todd Genome, aka stage name “TO3D” hs been studying and playing percussion for most of his life. He started out in middle school marching band and directed himself on a wonderful journey to drum and bugle corps (Phantom Regiment, Colts) during high school and the start of college, where he played pit- timpani and melodic percussion, mostly. During his drum corps days, his corps received second place in the world in finals, and he personally achieved 4th for his individual marimba performance.
He played in the world-renowned Northern Illinois University World Steelband for 2 years under the Percussive Arts Society Hall-of-Famer Cliff Alexis and the legendary Liam Teague. Also at NIU, he studied tabla for 2 years with Robert Chappell, a student of Ustad Zakir Hussein, and Ustad Alla Rakha, and an amazing player in his own right.
Todd has recently taken up electronic music with his Roland HandSonic to achieve new depths of instrument layering and sound-melding abilities, previously impossible with traditional instruments at one time, live. He has played yacht parties with DJ BRC/Atmaan, and has just stepped into the Artispure collective.”
